Subject: Advantages to Blogging

Mr. Florence,

I have reviewed Mr. Lutz’s blog and I see your concern. However, there are many advantages to you having your own blog. He talks about issues that will result in both positive and negative comments. Not everyone can be pleased at all times.

There are a couple of different approaches you can take on your blog. You don’t have to allow anyone to post comments. You can format your blog to be a one way line of communication. Of course, by doing that you would be in the same situation and not know what our customers think about the topic.

If you chose to allow your followers to leave comments, the positivity left by some may rub off on those being negative. Of course, the chances are the same that the negativity will transfer to those who were being positive. Another way to look at it is the comments being left will open the eyes of other readers and in turn they will see the situation in a different light.

In the long run, I see it as a good thing for you to open a blog and speak casually. Mr. Lutz as well as other GM executives are well respected and would not have done this to damage their names or their company. At least give it a chance, if you don’t like the outcome, you don’t have to continue.

Let me know if you would like assistance in setting it up, I’d be happy to help.

Thanks,

Sarah Aaron
