At Cisco, we strive to provide high-quality and dependable equipment to our customers. With the recent criticisms, our company is addressing the issues of supplying high-tech equipment to police agencies in China.

Currently, Cisco is in no way turning against U.S. export regulations, and continue to sell our products to consumers all over the world. The allegation of supplying dangerous equipment to be used with malicious intent is just that: with malicious intent, from the customers. Cisco's job is to supply our customers with sufficient tools. It is not our responsibility to know or to be held accountable for what our customers do with our purchased equipment. Our equipment is dispersed all over the world, and not only China, and therefore diminishing the claim that we have the intent of supplying China with dangerous equipment. We are merely the supplier of tools, not ideas of what to do with those tools.

If Cisco were not the supplier of China's tools, China would seek another company who would provide them with the equipment they needed. This does no good for anyone. Cisco provides much needed jobs for citizens of the United States, thus helping the hurting economy. Even if Cisco ended their service with China, the next company may or may not have the same innocent intent. There is no just cause to the criticisms and allegations against Cisco, for consumers are responsible for their choices.
