Texting In The Workplace Policy

Texting is a new and strong trend that is growing in many workplaces in the US. I believe that this is not appropriate for our line of business. I do not believe that it implies professionalism to the investor's, and that it can cause mistakes. Should an employee miss read a text he might make a mistake that could cost him his job. All documents should be text free. One reason for this is, should an employee be texting a document, and send it to the wrong person or to some unknown person, ramifications could be serious. Sending out a text to the wrong person could lead to mistakes, and even in some cases loss of company security should an important document be sent. Email along with face to face instructions are greatly appreciated.

I realize it may be hard to refrain from texting so I have set in motion this rule. For 2 weeks i will only have you warned, or asked to stop. After those two weeks are up ,if you are caught texting in the workplace u will be warned twice and on your third offence you will be terminated and asked to leave. So please try and learn quickly.

Texting may be the new and popular. However it does not give a professional feeling to our business. I believe that by refraining from texting we can better represent ourselves as a respectable business, and also refrain from any text related problems.

Texting can lead to misunderstandings, and sometimes lead to misunderstandings with customers and employees. No employee wants to get into trouble or fired for texting lol or thx to a customer who mistakes there meaning. Many people still avoid using texting in this generation. It may one day become acceptable in business, but while I'm here we will refrain from using it.

I can not tell you how to talk to your family and friends but while you are present at your job I will ask you to refrain from texting. I understand that u may receive texts from family or friends but i will ask you to please refrain from texting them back until you have either left the building or go on break.

Texting will be aloud only in the break room or outside of the building and only if it is not work related.
