New Company Policy
Dear Business Partners,
In the years that Ive been running this firm I never thought that the text messaging language would become a big issue, but it seems like it has. Yesterday, I received an email form an employee stating what he/she did last Friday night.
Email,
omg, i had sooooo much fun on fri. I went 2 this gr8t party and got a little drunk. I met some1 & he was 2 cute!!! I cant wait 2 see him 2morrow.
As you can see it was nothing inappropriate, but the writing is unacceptable and unreadable. My number one concern for this firm is that the clients see us in a professional way at all times. I understand this was an accident and the person will not suffer any consequences, but I cannot allow this type of language in email, memos, messages, etc. to continue. From now on everyone will be required to write in a professional way at all times. Whether it's personal or work related, I don't want to see this type of writing in my firm.
Failure to obey the new firm policy will result in the follow;
1st offense- employee will receive a warning
2nd offense- one week suspension
3rd offense- termination
I have never used this type of language in any of my emails or text messages because it's not a healthy habit. Write the English language like it's suppose to be written and we wont have this issue again. We are not teenagers, we are professional adults, lets set an example for future CPAs and write like ones.
If you have any questions please feel free to come to my office and we can address the issue face to face.
Sincerely,
Jerta Boci
